The New York Andalus Ensemble is a community ensemble, dedicated to learning about and performing music from the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa. We sing in Arabic, Hebrew, Spanish, and Ladino, and incorporate a wide array of traditional and modern acoustic instruments.
The New York Andalus Ensemble rehearses weekly at the City University of New York--Graduate Center, in midtown Manhattan. We perform several times during the year. Anyone is welcome to join. It is not necessary to play an instrument or have any special linguistic capabilities.
